God loves to give stuff away! (See John 3:16, Romans 8:32, Matthew 7:7-11) Every Sunday and at various other times of the year Immanuel loves to gather to receive the things God loves to give. This is what we call worship or, as Lutherans sometimes say, the “Divine Service.” Through Word and Meal God serves up His gifts of forgiveness, acceptance, and love (for FREE!) and we respond through prayer and praise, and, as we go out into the world, with service to our neighbors.
